Supervisors and mechanics who have been through the “Timing and Adjustments” class, and/or have working knowledge of equipment.
ABOUT THIS CLASS
Silgan University offers a three day training session which is intended to provide mechanics with hands on training to enhance their skills and knowledge of the PS2006 Series Closing Machine.
CLASS CONTENT
DAY 1
- Course objectives
- Seamer maintenance
- Timing and adjustments
- Change over
DAY 2
- Finish cover feed rebuild procedure and set up
- Remove seaming spindle from seamer head cap
- Remove seaming lever shanks from seaming head cap
- Tear down and discuss seaming shank overhaul procedure and set up
- Tear down and discuss seaming spindle overhaul procedure and set up
- Tear down and discuss seaming knockout rod overhaul procedure and set up
- Tear down and discuss can holding chuck overhaul procedure and set up
- Remove make up, discharge, kicker cam segments from seaming cam
DAY 3
- Inspect cover guides and discuss critical wear areas and install
- Install seaming head caps
- Install can holding chuck
- Install can feed turret
- Install stationary guide
- Install discharge turret
- Install cover feed
- Install cover feed drive
- Install double seam tooling
- Discuss and time seamer
- Discuss and time cover feed
- Discuss and start basic double seam set up
